Archives and ResearchMany of the documents at Hatfield House have been here since they were created. We hold documents and collections of local, national and international significance. Our primary aim is to preserve the papers in our care for the benefit of future generations. The collection is used by the owner and managers of the estate but the records are also made available to suitably qualified researchers. The collection is privately maintained and no public funding is sought or received.
Due to urgent deadlines and upcoming maternity leave, the Archives Department is unable to respond to research and image enquiries and requests to access the archives until May 2015.
However, if you have an enquiry relating to the following collections, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Lady Emily Mary Hill (Lady Salisbury, then Lady Derby)
- The 6th Marquess of Salisbury
- The 5th Marchioness of Salisbury
- Lord Sackville Cecil
- Lord Lionel Cecil
- Lady Mary Cecil (Countess of Galloway)
- Lord Edward Cecil (son of the 3rd Marquess of Salisbury).
If your enquiry is in relation to any of these collections, you will receive a response shortly.
