Group visits are welcome during our 2014 visitor season which runs from 5 April to 28 September (closed Good Friday, 18 April 2014). Please note: The House is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except Bank Holiday Mondays. It is essential for groups to pre-book and pre-pay to secure the group rate

The West Garden is open from 10am-5pm Tues - Sun & BH Mondays. The House is open 11am-5pm (last entry 4pm) Wed - Sun & BH Mondays. The East Garden is open on Wednesdays only 11am-5pm. The Restaurant open Tues - Sun & BH Mondays 10am-5.30pm. Stable Yard shopping open Tues - Sun & BH 11am-5.30pm.
Pre-booked and pre-paid admission for groups of 20 or more to the House, Park and West Garden is £12.50. The group rate for West Garden and Park is £7.00. One organiser per group will be admitted free of charge. On Wednesdays the East Garden is open at an extra charge of £4 per person.
Pre-booked guided tours are available at an additional cost of £40 per group (max 30 people) which last an hour. For those not selecting a guided tour, we have very knowledgeable guides positioned in each room to answer all your questions. Informative audio tours are also available.
The licensed self-service Coach House Restaurant has space to accommodate all visitors although a reserved area can sometimes be booked for group meals (please call 01707 262030).
There is plenty of free parking for cars and coaches. The coach park is just minutes from the Old Palace and Stable Yard. Coach drivers with groups visiting the House and Garden are admitted free of charge and will receive a complimentary meal voucher.
The Gift Shop, Stable Yard shopping, Bloody Hollow (children's adventure playground), Hatfield Park Farm (traditional breeds farm) and parkland with marked walks all add to the enjoyment of a visit to Hatfield House.
Corporate and private parties, marriage ceremonies, wedding receptions, banquets and other events are held throughout the year in the Riding School and the Old Palace (c1485) - please call the Hospitality Team on 01707 262055 for further details or see the Hospitality section.
We have an extensive and varied events programme the details of which are posted on this site and constantly updated. The major events are particularly recommended to group organisers.
Payment for groups must be made in advance (for the whole party) by cheque or credit card no later than 2 weeks prior to your visit. One group leader/organiser is admitted free of charge (apart from some special events).
Hatfield House in Hertfordshire is another stately home that impressed the group. Richard remarks, "A lot of stately homes are a bit austere because they're not lived in. This isn't the case with Hatfield House."
