Battle’s Over, a nation’s tribute – Beacon lighting

Hatfield House was proud to take part in Battle’s Over, an international commemoration marking 100 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War.

At 7pm on the 11th November 2018 a beacon was lit within the grounds of Hatfield House, along with over 1000 others across the country, symbolising the light of peace that emerged from the darkness of four years of war. We were joined by many local residents who helped us to commemorate the centenary and to recognise the contribution and sacrifice made by the men and women from our own community.
