Country Show 2011

Our hugely popular annual Country Show took place between 19th-21st August. As part of our 400th Anniversary year’s celebration, we had a new look and a new name: ‘The Hatfield Country Show – a Show for Hertfordshire’. We would like to thank all our exhibitors and demonstrators for their support and enthusiasm.

This year it was Family Friday – on Friday 19th August accompanied children (under 16) were admitted FREE! The Hatfield Country Show had the best of Hertfordshire in the spectacular setting of the Park at Hatfield House. The show was opened on Friday by Lord Salisbury and Miss Hertfordshire.

On Saturday 20th Matt Dawson and the team from Monster Munchies filmed the attempt to make the biggest Cottage Pie – visitors came along to see the teams in action.

Hertford in Bloom winners were at the show to receive their prizes. Visitors had the opportunity to enter their own fruit, vegetables and flowers in our fun Produce show. See ‘Produce show results’ in the menu to the left for details of the winners.

A major new family attraction at the Hatfield Country Show this year was the introduction of the lake known as New Pond for coarse and fly fishing lessons for adult and child beginners alike. Peter Hartley and his team of well experienced and qualified fishermen were present each day of the Show to provide expert tuition to beginners and polish the skills of the more experienced fishermen!
