New for 2012 - Veteran Tree Trail

From Easter 2012, there will be a Veteran Tree Trail around the historic oaks in Hatfield Park.
At Hatfield, there are some hugely imposing oak, hornbeam and beech pollards to be found. The Estate takes great pride in this natural heritage and has a policy of encouraging natural regeneration from these trees and creating new pollards for future generations to appreciate.
Visitors will be able to purchase a booklet detailing the history of some of the trees and follow the trail around the Park, taking in not only the Veteran Oaks but some of the newly created woodlands, such as the Jubilee Wood and, not forgetting, the Queen Elizabeth Oak Tree.
