Changes to the 2020 Visitor Season

COVID-19 (coronavirus) update – Hatfield House opening postponed.

Updated – Friday 15th May 2020.

The health and wellbeing of our visitors and the people working here is our overriding priority during the developing situation, we have therefore decided the following

  • We hope to invite visitors back to the Park, Gardens, Woodland Walks and Old Palace soon. The team here at Hatfield House are busy reviewing the recent government guidance and taking steps to ensure both visitors and staff can maintain safe social distancing whilst still enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

  • The safety of our staff and visitors is paramount and for this reason, we will not be receiving visitors into Hatfield House itself for the remainder of this 2020 season.

  • Hatfield Park Farm and play area will unfortunately close and won’t be re-opening in its current form. We are taking some time to review what attractions and experiences we can offer future visitors to this area of the Estate.

  • We hope to open the Coach House Kitchen with a reduced take away menu in a form which complies with the latest government guidelines.

There are changes taking place to upcoming planned events, please go here for the latest information.

For details of opening times please go here.

We would like to thank all our valued team and visitors for their continued support during this time, “By supporting each other it means we can all keep playing our part in the community whilst caring for the places, collections, historic and natural environments that unite and sustain us all. The whole team are working hard to keep it all safe and sound. When the time comes, we can’t wait to welcome you, your friends and family back to Hatfield House, Park and Gardens.”
Anthony Downs – Estate Director.

The difficult decision to close Hatfield Park Farm permanently has now been made. We are using this time to reflect on how the experiences we offer families and especially children can be improved. We will continue to develop our educational tours of our buildings and grounds, and introduce exciting new woodland trails that give everyone the chance to see the park’s stunning wildlife in its natural setting. We look forward to bringing you further news about new activities and changes to our visitor experience in due course.
We look forward to welcoming everybody back soon.

If you have already booked tickets for a visit to the House for the 2020 season, please be assured that we will be in touch to talk about alternative tickets or dates. We appreciate that rearranging organised trips may not be a priority today but we will be happy to help whenever the time is right.

Notice to Passholders:

To ensure our team can follow social distancing guidance we will not be issuing any new passes to potential passholders at this time.

Existing passholders are still welcome into the park via the Station Lodge entrance opposite the train station, please show your pass to security upon entrance whilst keeping a safe distance.

Thank you
