Our Archive Team visiting The Lost Dress

Last week our Archive and Collections team visited Hampton Court Palace.

The Rainbow Portrait which usually faces the entrance to the Marble Hall is currently on loan to Hampton Court Palace for a fascinating exhibition – ‘The Lost Dress of Elizabeth I’.

Our Archive and Collections department had the opportunity to see the Bacton Altar Cloth, a rare survival of an Elizabeth dress worn by Elizabeth I and the iconic Rainbow Portrait together.

We look forward to welcoming the Rainbow Portrait back next month when we open for our new season on Saturday 4th April 2020.
