River Lea, Hatfield Park - Hatfield House
Share This

River Lea, Hatfield Park

The Lea rises from the chalk aquifer at Leagrave in the Chiltern hills north of Luton and flows through Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and North – East London before eventually discharging into the Thames. The Lea is home of lots of wildlife including fish, kingfishers, dragonflies and water voles.

We are very grateful to our staff and volunteers who help us care for the river and its residents as it runs through Hatfield Park, and it was very exciting to receive a rare visit from this otter last Saturday night.
