SOWING ACORNS - Hatfield House
Share This

SOWING ACORNS

Today the Park & Gardens team have been sowing the acorns collected from the Veteran Oak trees. These have been planted in rows 6cm apart with each row having 15cm between them and being 5cm deep.

Chicken wire will be pegged down to protect them from being dug up and in May leaves should start to show.

We have already seen some encouraging signs with the first root (radicle) already pushing out of the seed coating in some of the acorns.

We look forward to following the process and updating you all.
