St Etheldreda’s Church: New Piano Fund
Historic St Etheldreda’s Church lies only a few paces from the Old Palace. Music forms a vital part of our worship. The adult and junior choirs sing a wide range of music from Byrd to Rutter at Sunday services and special evensongs. Our young singers are drawn from local primary and secondary schools and are given excellent musical tuition under the enthusiastic guidance of our Director of Music, Dan Gilchrist. We also host performances by amateur and professional musicians. In recent months we have welcomed the orchestra of the Purcell School and the chamber choir Ensemble Pro Victoria.
In order to continue this musical tradition, we need to replace our grand piano which is getting beyond repair. A piano is essential for rehearsals and for accompanying pieces for which the organ is inappropriate. Please support our fund to purchase a new piano, probably a good, reconditioned grand piano which will last us many years. Thank you.
PS We welcome applications to join our adult and junior choirs. Contact Dan Gilchrist by email: daniel.gilchrist@outlook.com

Donations of home baked goods, ‘New for you’ gifts, plants and raffle prizes are welcomed and much appreciated.

Contributions and donations can be made to Breaks Manor Youth & Community Centre, between 9am and 2pm any weekday or to Station Lodge, Hatfield House (opposite Hatfield Train Station) from 10am to 4pm on Monday 11th April.
