Stepping Out With Carers

Come and join Stepping Out for The Big Step Out Festival packed with fun, activities, music, prizes & a set of spectacular walks for carers & the people they care for as well as the local community. Share the excitement at Hatfield Park where the welcome is always warm, the lunch is always delicious and our guided walks round the stunning park and gardens always supply an uplifting dose of scenic and sociable rejuvenation.

You can bask in history, admiring the site where the young Queen Elizabeth I spent much of her childhood, full of plots & strategems – and indigestible Tudor feasts. Or you can bring your well-behaved pooch for a walk – Clare Balding is going to lend us her expertise by virtually judging our Happiest Dog of the day. The beautiful gardens are suitable for people who use wheelchairs or have other mobility problems. For those who enjoy a longer stroll, The Big Step Out will host two longer walks taking different routes through the parkland: one for dogs and their owners (around 3k) and one for good walkers around 5k. All will be guided by our Stepping Out walk leaders and volunteers.

Stepping Out has had a wonderful relationship with Hatfield Park ever since our first hugely popular walk there in 2018. We’ll be providing lunch and you can browse the stalls of an array of local organisations who provide wonderful offers of help, entertainment & fun to carers and the people they care for on a year-round basis.

People from the local community are welcome to come along and help celebrate unpaid carers who provide so much unsung and yet crucial support for friends, neighbours or family members. The event is being run by Stepping Out with Carers supported by The NHS Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board.
