Farming & Events Working Together

Today, the Farm, Park and Events team have been working together ahead of this weekends Firework Champions event. This developing flower meadow has been cut and baled as part of preparation.

Andrew Turvey, Head Gardener here at Hatfield Park said:

“Cutting and removing the grass from the flower meadow, helps to reduce fertility in the ground, giving the wild flowers more chance to establish among the grass. This will also help spread the remaining flower seed, which will germinate this autumn for next spring.”
